Next Meeting Feb 26, 2010
Topic: "The State wide Democratic Candidates in the June Primary"
Message from our Secretary/Treasurer:
Please support me in Hike 4 Hope!
Bruce
and I are hiking eight miles this year for the 12th Annual Hike 4 Hope
on March 7, 2010. This is a great event to raise funds for women's
cancer research, treatment and education, and programs at
world-renowned City of Hope.
Too
many of our mothers, daughters and friends - and their loved ones - are
affected by breast, ovarian, and uterine cancer every year. We are
dedicating our 2010 hike to our lovely friend Audrey Goodman-Malamuth who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
City
of Hope's research has led to the development of Herceptin® and
Rituxan®, two of the leading anti-cancer drugs. Finding a cure for
this devastating disease is very important to me. By raising funds and
participating in Hike 4 Hope, I know I can make a difference.
If you agree this is a worthwhile cause, there are several ways you can support it:
1. Send a check made out to City of Hope to us at 39811 Palm Greens Parkway, Palm Desert, CA 92260.
2. Donate on-line at Sharon' Hike for Hope Page.
3. Register to participate in the hike at Indian Canyons, Palm Desert, by clicking on www.hike4hope.com. You can also register to be a Virtual Hiker at this same site.
Thank you so much for your consideration.

The election to fill the open 37th State Senate seat will be held on April 13. Here’s an opportunity to hear from our Democratic candidates. If we elect a Democrat on April 13, Democrats will need only one more Senate seat to gain a 2./3 majority in the State Senate. The Governor has appointed a Republican State Senator to fill the position of Lt. Governor. That seat will also be open. So we Democrats have a real change of getting the 2/3rd majority.
