Hi Charlie! First let me say that I appreciate greatly the time and energy you put into the PDG Democrats Club. Thank you many many times! Now, I have this to say about that, to quote a famous politician of long ago. I think it's important for the Democrats in this rather (smug) Republican area, to project in an attitude of confidence, pride, "can-do" to counteract all the slime coming from the Far Right. I vigorously support any decisions to place ads or meeting notices in the newsletters of other complexes and the free Mobile Home News, as suggested by Ray. Maybe Club members have liberal friends in other complexes that would be interested in supporting the Democratic ideas and agenda. And I heartily support your attitude of "Let's try it" regarding PDG's "nothing political" . We all appreciate harmony and good neighborliness, but surely there is a commitment to free speech, even in PDG. Unapologetic VISIBILITY is important!!!!!!!! I'd like to suggest that this Dem. Club encourage members to add their names to the many petitions from MoveOn, Credo (formerly WorkingAssets), Patrick Leahy, et al. If an organization can deliver 64000 signatures on a point of view to Washington and/or the media, than it's certainly worth 20 seconds of my time to read the petition statement and add my name -- if I agree, which I usually do! Perhaps there are a couple of Club members who could take this on??? Finally, when I think of all the money the Republicans can spend on their various campaigns, I'm all in favor of raising our Club fees to $15, as suggested by one of the small groups in February. We may be the underdogs, but what we lack in money we can make up in smarts, pride, and energy. That's all -- thank you again for all your efforts and energy -- Lee Colby
